Junior Cricket at Plumtree 1 of 3

1. Junior Cricket at Plumtree

At Plumtree Cricket Club, our large, thriving junior section is at the heart of everything we do. We’re passionate about giving young players the chance to discover cricket in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment.

OUR VALUES

Our junior programme focuses on enjoyment, teamwork, and developing confidence as much as technique. At Plumtree, it’s not just about cricket; it’s about building skills for life. This is underpinned by our PLUMS values:

  • Plumtree People: Great clubs are made of great people. We are dedicated to and take pride in developing great people.
  • Loyal: This is our community and we look after our own. Everyone is treated equally, supporting one and other on and off the field, and providing opportunities for all.
  • Unleashed: We provide chances for individuals to thrive. Everyone is encouraged to express themselves individually and as part of our community.
  • Manners: Good Plums have good manners. We are polite, courteous to others, and respectful at all times. We call out bad behaviour when necessary.
  • Social: Communities thrive on being social together. We sing whether we are winning or losing because being part of the PLUMS is all that really matters.

COACHING

With qualified coaches and dedicated volunteers, we provide structured training sessions and competitive opportunities tailored to each age group.

All of our juniors aged 8+ are coached for an hour each week throughout the summer months (April - September) on a Monday or Friday evening. All coaches are ECB-qualified and DBS-certified. These sessions are included as part of junior membership.

The club also deliver Winter/Spring nets, from January to April, at Trent Bridge. These sessions are subject to an additional fee.

HOW TO JOIN

New players of all abilities are always welcome. For more information on the teams and range of opportunities we have for ages 5 to 18, please see the other pages in this section.

If you have any queries, please contact Ben Thompson, Head of Junior Cricket, Tim Rushby, Memberships Manager, or the appropriate Age Group Manager.
